Comparing the 2026 Chevrolet Trax to the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross
Compact SUVs offer the versatility many shoppers are looking for. Our Honolulu dealership is excited to help you find a vehicle you love, and the 2026 Chevrolet Trax should be a top consideration. We put the 2026 Trax vs the 2027 Honda HR-V and the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross to show you the benefits of choosing from our new Chevy inventory.
The new Chevy Trax boasts a more competitive start price than its competitors, and we're excited to show you how you can make that value work for you.
Performance
Every 2026 Trax has a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine that offers 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Built for comfort and convenience, it offers a smooth drive and responsive handling, making it an attractive choice for Waipahu drivers. Enjoy up to 28 MPG for city driving and 31 MPG for highway driving.
While the 2027 Honda HR-V offers more horsepower, the engine provides less torque and pairs with a Continuously Variable Transmission. The new Honda returns slightly worse fuel efficiency for city driving.
The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross does not offer as much torque and pairs with a Continuously Variable Transmission.
Interior Comfort
The new Trax helps you bring family, friends, and pets with up to 99.8 cubic feet of passenger space. Generous cargo space complements passenger volume, offering between 25.6 and 54.1 cubic feet for your gear and equipment. Single-zone climate control keeps your cabin comfortable, with heated front seats available to make cold mornings easier to handle.
Choosing the 2027 HR-V will provide less passenger volume and will not include heated front seats on its base trim. The HR-V also does not provide as much cargo space behind its rear seats as the new Chevy SUV for sale near Kapolei.
You won't find as much passenger space in the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross. Heated front seats are limited to fewer trim levels, providing fewer comfort features when shopping for a new SUV.
Technology
You'll find an 8.0-inch touchscreen on the LS and 1RS trim, with the LT trims including an 11-inch screen. This system includes wireless smartphone connectivity. Upgrading adds wireless phone charging, keeping your device ready for any destination. The base system has four speakers, and each upgraded trim includes six.
You'll get a smaller screen on many 2027 Honda HR-V trim levels. The base screen measures 9.0 inches, making it bigger than the base trims of the Trax but smaller than the upgraded options. You'll also get four speakers and wireless connectivity on the base trim.
The new Corolla Cross includes an 8.0-inch screen with a 10.5-inch upgrade available. It has six or nine speakers and also includes wireless smartphone connectivity.
Safety Features
The 2026 Chevy Trax has many features that look out for you whenever you face busy streets or parking lots. Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Alert, Auto Emergency Braking, and more are standard. Available features include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.
While Honda Sensing includes many safety features, the base Honda HR-V trim cannot include some features that the 2026 Trax has available.
The 2026 Corolla Cross provides similar levels of safety and driver assist features as the new Chevy Trax.
